Probiotic-ing in Madagascar

In January -March 2020 our team has been working on completing the next phase of our probiotics in Madagascar ~ Probiotic colonization and persistence trials. This is were we look to see which probiotics can "stick" on the frogs skin. "Sticking" is important because if the probiotic bacteria doesn't stick around it cannot help the frog fight the chytrid fungus. We were able to set up experiments with 180 frogs 11 different species ! Here are some photos from the field, our frog room and the lab!
